Packing some. There may be time for those some day…
Sorting some. It’s easier to craft with things you can find…
Tossing some. Interests change, & there is only so much time…
Rediscovering others. I used to love to sketch & draw…

Over the next few months, perhaps spilling into the next few years, I will be expanding my creative blogging horizons- way beyond knitting! I haven’t been designing lately, and have been knitting less overall, but have been busy exploring so many other creative endeavors like photography, cake decorating, needlepoint, beading, sketching… my list keeps growing!

It’s just the type of person I am.

The creative type, an artist of sorts.

And I can’t wait to fill this space with creativity again!

Up next- a new banner

More soon!!

What Child is this, who, laid to rest,
On Mary’s lap is sleeping?
Whom angels greet with anthems sweet,
While shepherds watch are keeping?

This, this is Christ the King,
Whom shepherds guard and angels sing:
Haste, haste to bring Him laud-
The Babe, the Son of Mary.

Why lies He in such mean estate
Where ox and ass are feeding?
Good Christian, fear for sinners here
The silent Word is pleading.

This, this is Christ the King,
Whom shepherds guard and angels sing:
Haste, haste to bring Him laud-
The Babe, the Son of Mary.

So bring Him incense, gold, and myrrh-
Come, rich and poor, to own Him;
The King of kings salvation brings-
Let loving hearts enthrone Him.

This, this is Christ the King,
Whom shepherds guard and angels sing:
Haste, haste to bring Him laud-
The Babe, the Son of Mary.

***

Celebrating the Christ who came to redeem!

That tumor was cancerous, and our life has been forever changed, but we have the firm foundation of a faith in the One who will sustain us all through this time. We know our oldest son is in His very capable hands, and we trust His love, despite not always understanding His ways…

We thank you for your prayers.

This is not how I wanted to make a crafty bloggy comeback. I wanted to find some pockets of time somewhere and churn out projects complete with great pictures and pithy posts. Someone once said “You can’t always get what you want.” We all know they were right.

Something other than new knitting has me typing this morning…

Our family has a major prayer request.

Our oldest son, Ian (sometimes referred to as The Teenager), was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Needless to say, this is not something that we were prepared for. I’m pretty sure no one is ever prepared for that.

You can read more about it over at my an ordinary mom blog, but the short version is that the neurosurgeon is very optimistic that this tumor is low-grade or benign, judging by the look of it on the MRI.

We covet your prayers for our son, for our family.

Thank you, my friends.
