She’s here & we’re home!
Faith Anna (we finally decided on a name!) was born at 5:08 yesterday morning (3/30). She is just perfect and so precious, and we are abounding in thankfulness, (as well as sleepiness).
She weighed in at 9 lbs. 2 oz. and measured 22″, and believe it or not, that makes her a medium in our book. (I’ve birthed 2 larger, at 9 lbs. 10 oz. and 9 lbs. 12 oz.) She may be on the big side for a newborn, but she still seems so tiny to me, so fresh, and new, and little, especially when looking at our current 2 1/2 year old, who would never be mistaken for scrawny…
Born Wednesday morning with no complications, home on Thursday morning, just the way I like it. I know some women love the couple days of “peace and quiet” and “room service”, but I prefer to rest and recuperate in the comfort of my own home, energetic children and all. With no cutting or tearing, there was no stitching, so my only real recovery issues are extremely sore back and hip muscles, after pains (especially when nursing- yowsers!), and being really tired. Between being up the entire night before delivering and having low iron from blood loss, I’m exhausted, but that just gives me a great excuse to sit back on the couch and sigh contedly as I gaze at my little sleeping beauty, resting and napping in between feedings.
A HUGE thank you for all of the thoughts and prayers you’ve sent our way. I truly believe skeins her way readers (and an ordinary mom readers) are some of the nicest people on the internet.
